CRYPTIC CLUE ORIENTEERING

The Concept

This concept sees the group split into smaller teams. These teams will need to navigate to various locations on the property using cryptic clues and maps. Once at these locations teams will need to complete a task in order to collect their next clue or earn points. Tasks may include anything from finding a specific artefact in the original homestead to a blind wine tasting. Teams will be scored on who collects the most points and correctly follows the cryptic clues to the finish in the shortest time.

Possible Venues

Groot Constantia is the benchmark by which the heritage of the Cape is measured in te rms of its history, architecture, collection and estate wines. This is the oldest and first wine-producing farm conveniently situated with regards to Cape Town. The estate offers a wide variety of interesting points for orienteering and teams will have a chance to find out both about the history of the estate as well as the wine process.

Spier is the crossroads of a Cape African Experiences, a place where cultures, people and ideas meet. The estate offers a wide variety of interesting points for orienteering and teams will have a chance to find out both about the history of the estate while enjoying a taste of Africa. Spier has a new addition – the film set of Carmen in Kyalitsha. The set includes a Shabeen and its own derelict cars, even knowing it is a film set it’s hard to believe this is not the real thing.
