ADVENTURE CHALLENGE

The Concept

This competitive outdoor adventure sees teams selecting what they believe to be the optimum route through a series of pre set adventure activities. Strategic planning and teamwork are vital for the teams’ success. The group will be divided into smaller teams at the start. Teamwork will be a critical factor in the successful completion of the activities. These teams will compete against each other on the following basis:

• The teams are to find specific locations strategically positioned all over the venue,
• At these locations the teams will complete various activities ranging from non physical lateral thinking activities to more physical ones,
• There will be no specific route and the teams will have to plan and strategize to ensure that they select a better, more profitable, route than the other teams,
• This score will be based on:
  • Finding the location, some of the locations will not have activities,
  • The difficulty of the task at the location,
  • The time it takes the team to successfully complete the specific task (for safety reasons this will not be applicable to all the activities).

 This format highlights the importance of teamwork, planning and strategy; focus, perseverance and goal orientated performance. Each team will be provided with the required equipment including all the necessary navigation equipment (GPS’s, compasses and maps) as well as the required information to allow them to plan their route and execute their strategy.
